Keyless Entry

There are times when you are so excited to do a certain thing but forget something more important. Common sense takes a break and leaves you in trouble.

I was rushing to get my badminton gears last night as I was already an hour late of schedule. I hurriedly parked the car in front of the apartment’s gate. But before I stepped inside our house, something hit me. Pataaay! I forgot the car keys inside the car. I ran back and tried to open any of the four doors. I began circling the vehicle. “What am I going to do now?” I thought. The duplicate key was also inside.

I looked around. Good thing I still have my cellphone but my wallet was inside the vehicle. I was thinking of calling our engineering department to have it opened, but not yet. There was a sense of relief when I saw my father-in-law. I immediately approached him.

“Tay, I left the keys inside the car”

“What about the duplicate?”

“It’s in there too.”

“You should keep one in the house.”

“I’m just using this vehicle temporarily. I have plenty of keys for the car that was originally assigned to me.”

“Wait. I’ll get something.”

I believe Tatay is kind of a MacGyver. He’s a real handyman: A cool handyman for that matter. I kept my composure too, avoiding any of the embarrassment. I drove away my two nieces to steer clear of the attention of neighbors and passersby. Tatay returned bringing a set of keys. But none of them worked. Then he called my bro-in-law. “Bring me a wire”.

With a flashlight and a wire, he made his attempts. “This is how carnappers do their thing” he grinned. I just stood there excited of the actual demonstration. It took him less than three minutes to open the vehicle. No sweat. Tatay just saved my day.

buti walang wang wang nong mabuksan ang pinto ng kotse mo, lol

kanino natuto yun?Hehe!

ako naman, sobrang paranoid sa mga ganyang sitwasyon. nakaka-ilang check ako if i have the car keys before i step out of the car, and before i lock the car door (hindi automatic ang kotse ko e)>

ang galing naman ng tatay mo. natutunan mo ba how he does it? :D

francesca/lady cess, i now have an idea how to do it. Di ko lang isulat in details baka may magexperiment sa kotse ng kapit-bahay (he he). It wont work on the newer models.

leaving the key (whatever key)inside and locking myself out is one of my "fears", medyo madali akong magpanic pagdating sa mga susi, resulta: andami kong duplicates and they're in my bag, in my wallet, in my room, in a safe in the living room, kulang na lang mag-iwan din ako ng duplicate sa kapitbahay hehe. paranoid no? :)

*i mean safe place in the living room :D

awa naman ng Diyos at hindi pa naman nangyayari sa akin yung ganyan. Though naranasan ko na yung "bukas-kotse" when i was still in college.

Have another duplicate key for your car and leave it at home.

zherwin/jho, first time nangyari sa aking yon. I have at least 3 duplicate keys in my other service vehicle. Kaso lang, for this one which I've been using since last month, isa lang, tapos nandun pa sa car. silly me!

Dude! I want your left-over thoughts on some entry I made. I'm interested to know your views on this one. :D

is dad an engineer? i can open cabinet locks and pad locks, but i have never tried car locks. hmmm, where do you think dad learned it?

it's good it does not work with new cars, i am relieved, though carnappers would always have a way.

hahaha. hala! buti na lang expert tatay mo. so ngayon? marunong ka na po? :)

daisy, nabanhaw gamay! he he.

ralpht, my mistake.

fence, tua na.

sexy mom, tatay is not an engineer. He's a mechanic, a technician, a carpenter, a furniture maker, ano pa ba? I never thought he'd do it the way I saw in the movies.

tin-tin, marunong na siguro. he he.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago but it was very embarrassing. I just broke up with my girlfriend and had to ask her for my spare keys... She was the last person I wanted to see at that time...

One time we visited a friend and we were busy talking outside when she absentmindedly closed the door, it was locked and the keys were inside! grabe... good thing one of the guys opened it with a phone card, there's a technique daw in opening door locks w/ thin plastic cards, you just let it slide. My bro also opened my sis' main door with this method, but am totally clueless with this. I'm the one in the corner using my subconscious for positive results while the door is being unlocked. :)

btw, it was the main door of my friend's condo unit that was locked... i really thought it was impossible to open... :)

iskoo, i'm not sure with new models. pero kailangan talaga na galing sa service center ang mag-open for new vehicles.

alvin, buti hindi niya kinuha kotse mo. it reminds me of a post in your blog regarding a spare key.

carey, not all doors can be opened by a thin plastic card. It's very easy talaga. When your inside the house, it's better you double lock the door.

Mabuti na lang maka-MacGyver si tatay! Saved the day! :)

Ako, praning ako sa mga ganyang bagay. I make sure may duplicate akong dala lagi and yung naiiwan din sa dad ko.

Remote keyless entry becomes popular these days because it is convenient to use due to its automatically locking and unlocking car door system. And the most important feature of this product is its protection against theft. Some times Keyless entry doesn’t even need your hand because it is equipped with a central locking system, wherein the drivers wear a system badge which broadcast a signal recognized by the system that automatically unlock the doors when the driver approaches the car and automatically locking when the drivers move away.
