Just Collecting

The picture of Paulo Coelho's book "The Zahir", located in my lower-right sidebar under currently reading section, has been there for many months now.

I'm still midway though. I read a couple of pages last night but placed it down again. I find the story interesting but I can't seem find the time to complete it.

My love for book reading must have degenerated. I recently bought two new titles. "Escape from Film School" and "The Poet Game". My wife asked me what I am going to do with it.

"For now" I curtly replied, "I just collect them".

if you are half-way to the The Zahir book (I've read that already - took me about a week to finish it though), ako naman sa The Witch of Portabelo" also by P.C. Just like you, i will read about 4 pages or so then put it down.

I do hope, time will come wherein I will be able to finish that book.

I guess my times na ganyan talaga. Ako I bought "Motorcycle diaries" late last year. And I think last month ko lang natapos yung few chapters. I still have a Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "Love in time of Cholera" First 10 pages pa lang nasisimulan ko di ko pa natutuloy. Cguo ngayong ag-ulan we have more time to read

You should see the number of books --- half-read and unread --- stacked up inside my bookcase.

Since I started blogging almost two years ago, I've found it increasingly difficult to find the time to go over them. That, and the fact that my eyes get easily tired these days after a few pages. And to think, I used to be able to finish a book (just non-fiction please)in two days! *sigh*

I'll force myself to finish the book before the weekend. Di pala ako nag-iisa regarding unread books in the shelves.

Jho, I think I'll buy another of his book.

Ferdz, I have Gabriel Garcia Marquez' 100 years of solitude. I should read it again. I first read it in 2003. In 5 months, and only a quarter of the book's pages to go, I put it down.

snglguy, I only have a few non-fictions in my shelves. And most are unread too. The latest, Jack Welch's "Winning", sits idly in my office desk.

I don't know how many times I have heard Paul Coelho mentioned in so many different blogs...maybe its time I read one of his books..:)

Like Gypsy, I have no idea who Paul Coelho is. He must be a great writer. :D I'm not much of a fiction reader though.... or non-fiction. I guess I'm not much of a reader. hehe

i just finished the Alchemist last sunday, i had to because i need to re-read the harry potter book hehe.

months is nothing compared to my years of reading Last Man Standing (david baldacci), i wanted to finish it but it's just too heavy for my eyes, maybe there really are books that you read and yet, not able to finish them. and here i am, thinking of getting another coelho book. hehe

gypsy/wil, paulo coelho is another famous south american writer. It's my first time to read a work of his. I guess I'll buy pa another one.

zherwin, i haven't read any of baldacci's books. Some people can really read thick books.

We are in same bus. My reading intake has regressed as my blogging progressed to roughly same degree. :( If only we could multitask this way: blogging and reading at same time.

Blogs are interesting and useful and informative reads too. Pero ...

tin-tin, collect ka na lang ng collect for the meantime. Basahin mo na lang pag wala na internet connections.

annamanila, it is difficult to multitask. When I want to read a very good book, i'd like to dwell on its story for a few weeks. In blogs, different blogs, different stories. sometimes I get lost in my bloghopping.
