After The Tax Season

My whole professional life revolves around accounting; 6 years in an auditing firm and another 6 and a half years in corporate finance. And many times I wonder what if I pursued my high school dream of taking up Agriculture (my first choice) for College. There will be no tax season, only harvest season.

Yeah, some wistful thinking now that the tax season is over. I actually want a vacation, somewhere outside the city, preferably the beaches in some islands north of Cebu; Bantayan, Malapascua and Camotes. Or even Boracay. My first time there was during a firm outing after my first ever tax season. Boracay has been my standard for beaches ever since that day. So far, none can compare.

Well you can relax for a bit now that tax season's over. Accounting wasn't my first choice either although it was a very close second. Journalism was my first.

But I think Journalism would have been worse because there would have been stressful deadlines to meet every single day. Oh well.

Boracay it is! :)

Me too, have I known that Accounting will be like this, sheez, i should have taken another course (hehe). Relax, relax na lang tayo.
Speaking of vacation... parang mas gusto ko out of the country muna. Mas relaxing. tapos hindi ka pa madaling mahanap ng mga kasama mo sa office. :)

panaderos, it was only when I worked in an auditing firm, that I realized the worth of accountants. and not too many in the business organization appreciates their worth.

jho, kahit naka maternity leave hinahanap pa rin yung accountant. ha ha. The slack window for us is too narrow. dapat right after the 15th bakasyon kaagad kasi busy na naman pag month end.

it's a blessing that i am working on a tax-exempt company, that's why i have no dealings with BIR and I am thankful for that (pero minsan, namimiss ko rin yung pangha-harass ng tax season hehe)

and there are a lot of beaches that's comparable to boracay (i just discovered one).

You should try to check out other beaches in the Phils like Palawan, Siargao, Bohol...

keith, you should visit boracay. It's one of the world's best. According to a friend who had been to phuket and bali, are not really as beautiful as boracay.
